How to create a site from a ready-made template

In the creation form, select a card in the “Site template” block — the new site will immediately get the sections, menu, design, products, and images of the sample.

  1. Open the site creation page and fill in “Site address”, “Project name”, and “Short description”.
  2. In the “Site template” block, select a card. “Empty site” — only the engine's starting sections; the other cards are ready-made sample sites with a name and description.
  3. Click “Create”. If you are not logged in, enter your e-mail and click “Create site” — a temporary password will be sent to your email.
  4. At the “Site created!” step, there will be a line “Site deployed from template…” and a “Open site” button.

Everything from the sample moves over from the template: sections, menu, block styles, products, images, and files. Users, orders, payments, and mailboxes of the sample are not transferred — on the new site, you are the only administrator.

Language. The “Base language” field does not apply to a site from a template: the base language remains the template's language, since its texts are already written in it. You can change the language later on the “Site languages” tab.

If there is no “Site template” block, then templates are not set up on this platform, and an empty site is created. On some platforms (e.g., form builder), there is no empty site at all: you can only choose from templates, and the first one is pre-selected.

Site already exists. You can replace its content with a template in the backup section, card “Deploy site from template”, button “Deploy” next to the desired template. All site content will be completely replaced; accounts, finances, and mail will remain. A safety copy is saved before replacement — you can roll back in the “Safety copies” block.

If it didn't work

  • “This template is unavailable.” The template was hidden while the page was open. Refresh it and choose another.
  • The message “To create a site, log in or register.” Tariffs are enabled on the platform — a site can only be created from an account.
  • Texts on the site are in the wrong language. This is the template's language. Enable the desired language on the “Site languages” tab and start translation.
