How to download a site copy and restore it from one

← Back

Section /backups: "Download site copy" saves an encrypted file, "Restore from file…" returns the site to it. A safety copy is made before restoration.

  1. Open the "Backups" section — usually at /backups. It is available only to the site administrator.
  2. Click "⬇ Download site copy". For a large site, the build takes several minutes — do not close the page. Save the resulting file to your device.
  3. To restore the site from a copy, click "⬆ Restore from file…" and select the file. It will be uploaded in parts, and a "Copy check" block will appear: which site it belongs to, when the copy was taken, how much data and how many files it contains.
  4. If everything is correct — click "Restore site" and confirm.

The copy includes sections, settings, users, products, requests, and other site data, as well as uploaded images and files. The file is encrypted: it can only be opened on this server, and restored only to this same site. You cannot transfer the copy to another site.

Restoring returns everything to the moment of the copy: anything done after that will be lost. Therefore, before each restore, the engine automatically saves the current state to "Safety copies" (the last five are stored). If you restored to the wrong point — open this list and click ↩ next to the desired row; you can also download the copy there.

Make a copy before risky edits: mass text replacement, changing languages, deploying a template over the site.

If it didn't work

  • The "Restore site" button is inactive. The reason is written below the check table — most often it's a copy of another site. It cannot be restored here.
  • Instead of buttons — a warning about the encryption key. The key is not configured on the server; without it, copies are not made. Write to support.
  • The address /backups returns 404. The module opens only at the address of its section, and this site has no such section. On the "Site structure" page, create a section with the address /backups, enter backups in the "Module" field, and grant access "Administrators only".
  • After restoring, you were asked to log in again. The copy does not contain your account (it was created later). Log in with the account that was on the site at the time of the copy.

Tips for working with the builder

The "Help" section is made for those who are building a website on "Pervaya Liniya" for the first time. It contains answers to common questions: how to create a website, what to write in the fields, how to edit texts and photos, how to connect your own domain, and how to set up sections. The materials will help you figure things out without contacting support.

The builder is simple: you fill in the fields on the creation page, and then edit the content directly on the finished website. If something does not work or is unclear, check the relevant help item. The instructions are written in plain language and describe every step.

In Help you will find answers to questions:

  • how to come up with a website address and what to do if the name is taken;
  • how to change the title, description, and other texts on the page;
  • how to add products, services, or request forms;
  • how to connect your own domain instead of an address on firstline.com.ua;
  • how to set up sections and modules for your business needs.

If you cannot find the answer you need, use the feedback form — we will help you figure it out. The section is updated so that you can always find current information about working with the builder.
