How to upload objects from a file

← Back

The "Import" button in the "Object Management" section: XLSX, CSV, YML file or link, column mapping, check without writing, then import.

  1. In the "Object Management" section, click "Import".
  2. In the "Where to import" block, select "Section for new objects", the mode, and if needed "Sections to search for objects" (if nothing is selected — search across the entire site).
  3. In the "From" block, drag the file or paste the address into the "File link" field.
  4. In the "Column mapping" block, under each column, select where to write its values: object field, property, or new property. Mark the "Key" — the column by which a row finds an object on the site. The header row is marked on the left.
  5. Click "Check": a run without writing will show notes. Then — "Import".

Formats: XLSX, XLS, ODS, CSV, YML, XML. Large files (up to 512 MB) are uploaded in chunks. Save XLS and ODS larger than 10 MB as XLSX or CSV.

Modes. "Update, and add objects missing on the site" or "Only update data in existing objects". If the key is ID and such an object doesn't exist, a new object is not created: otherwise each repeat would create duplicates.

Useful settings: "Empty cells do not change object data", "Upload image only to objects without an image" (re-importing a price list won't download photos again), "Value separator in properties with selection". For a test, set "How many objects to import", e.g., 10. The form remembers the selection until next time, except for this number.

Import runs in batches with progress and can be stopped. The result is a row-by-row report and a "Download report" button.

If it didn't work

  • Price wasn't saved. The price column is written only to objects with a single price. The import does not fill a price matrix by variants.
  • Need a gallery. Only the first link is taken from the image column.
  • The object ended up in the wrong section. The "Section" column only affects new objects; a section not found is replaced by the one selected in the "Section for new objects" field, with a note in the report.

Tips for working with the builder

The "Help" section is made for those who are building a website on "Pervaya Liniya" for the first time. It contains answers to common questions: how to create a website, what to write in the fields, how to edit texts and photos, how to connect your own domain, and how to set up sections. The materials will help you figure things out without contacting support.

The builder is simple: you fill in the fields on the creation page, and then edit the content directly on the finished website. If something does not work or is unclear, check the relevant help item. The instructions are written in plain language and describe every step.

In Help you will find answers to questions:

  • how to come up with a website address and what to do if the name is taken;
  • how to change the title, description, and other texts on the page;
  • how to add products, services, or request forms;
  • how to connect your own domain instead of an address on firstline.com.ua;
  • how to set up sections and modules for your business needs.

If you cannot find the answer you need, use the feedback form — we will help you figure it out. The section is updated so that you can always find current information about working with the builder.
